(Fairfield) – Fairfield residents will notice an increase in their utility bills beginning in May. During this week’s Fairfield City Council meeting the council approved an increase in the “faculty charge” for water meter and sewer meter facilities. City officials say the move was necessary following much discussion. Currently, there is a $1 faculty charge. However, the council approved adding $3 per month to that charge for a total of $4 per month for each utility for an overall increase of $8 per month. The increase would take effect beginning May 1st.
