Edwards County Circuit Court Receives Tech Grant

(Edwards County) — Edwards County Circuit Court is the latest recipient of a technology grant. According to The Second Judicial Circuit, for the third consecutive year, Edwards County Circuit Court has been awarded a “Technology Modernization Grant.” The grant program, funded by the Illinois Supreme Court and the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, was offered to county court systems in the State for technology upgrades. Edwards County Resident Judge, Michael Valentine, and Circuit Clerk, Margaret Branum, applied for the funding which will help to purchase new scanners, monitors, a copier, computer software maintenance, and other technology including electronic legal research subscription services. This year’s grant totaled forty-five-thousand-five-hundred-twelve dollars. The Second Judicial Circuit is comprised of twelve counties including Crawford, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne, and White.
