In Wayne County Court on Thursday, two pleas were entered and accepted.
Jeremy G. McDannel, a 43-year-old from Fairfield, admitted guilt to a charge of grooming, classified as a class 4 felony. McDannel has been sentenced to 2 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by 6 months of mandatory supervised release. He will receive credit for 76 days already served. Additionally, one count has been dropped with the agreement of the victim and the victim’s family.
Caleb Winters, a 29-year-old resident of Sims, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. Winters has been placed under a year of court supervision and ordered to pay court costs totaling $999.
