Walker Rudy Stoltzfus was born June 10, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, and departed this life peacefully on June 16, 2024, at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by his family.

Walker was the son of Amos and Sophia R. (Brune) Stoltzfus, long-awaited sibling to 7-year-old big sister Avisynn, and daddy’s horse-riding buddy.

Walker was the first grandson born into the family, he looked like his daddy, and brought immense joy and love in his short time with us. Though his life was brief, our sweet Walker became a little superhero, donating to save another child’s life. He will forever be loved and cherished in our hearts.

He is survived by his parents: Amos and Sophia Stoltzfus of Cisne; a sister: Avisynn Jenkins of Cisne; maternal grandparents: Tanya Brune of Flora and Kevin (Lynn) Brune of Flora; paternal grandparents: Rudy and Annie Stoltzfus of Rinard; paternal great-grandparents: Stephen and Sadie Stoltzfus of Mechanicsville, Maryland and Ben and Katie Swarey of Charlotte Hall, Maryland; maternal great-grandmother: Karen Brune of Taylorville; and aunts and uncles: Lane Brune, Levi

(Kassie) Egbert, and Benjamin, Tobias, Lydia, Priscilla, Daniel, Stephen, Roy, Katieann, Mary, Mollie, and Malinda Stoltzfus.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather: Marvin Brune; maternal great-grandfather: Jack Stanford; maternal great-grandmother: Cindy Stanford; and great-uncle: Ike Stoltzfus.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Cisne Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, June 24, at the funeral home.
