Illinois State Police released the names Friday of three residents involved in an accident Wednesday evening on the Route 161 extension at the Buchanan Road in rural Iuka. All three are from Clay County, according to reports out of Flora.
The victims have been identified as Logan Tackett, Coty Workman and Gabe Applegate. They were ejected from a straight truck that was hit by an SUV at a stop sign at the intersection with Buchanan Road. Illinois State Police say the driver of the SUV, identified as 21 year old Dustin Barnett of Mt. Vernon, IL, allegedly didn’t stop and hit the truck.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department assisted state police at the scene, along with Kell and Iuka Firemen.
