MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL:

Game Two of the three-game set between the Cardinals and Braves was rained out in St. Louis. The matchup will be made up as part of a split double-header today. The Cards took Game One of the series and intended to start Kyle Gibson in the second meeting. Atlanta was set to counter with Reynaldo Lopez. Game today will start this afternoon at 12:45 and Game 2 will be a nightcap at 6:15 as Andre Pallante will start for St. Louis goiong up against Chris Sale of Atlanta.

The Chicago Cubs had just four hits during a 5-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park yesterday. The Cubs were down by just a run in the eighth when the Giants put together a three-run frame. Kyle Hendricks was charged with his fifth loss after allowing two runs on five hits in seven innings. The Northsiders dropped to fourth place in the NL Central with a 37-and-43 record. The Cubs take on the Giants again tonight at 8:45.

The Chicago White Sox are on a three-game losing streak following a 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox scored three runs in the bottom of the first to take an early 3-1 lead, but Los Angeles tied it up in the third and took the lead on a Shohei Ohtani single in the fourth. Andrew Benintendi homered in the losing effort, while Chris Flexen was charged with his seventh loss after surrendering four runs on six hits in five-and-two-thirds innings. The Southsiders remain in last place in the AL Central at 21-and-60. They send Erick Fedde to the mound against the Dodgers tonight at 7:10.

TENNESSEE WINS WORLD SERIES
The College Baseball ⚾️ World Series Championship came down to an exciting third game, as Tennessee held off Texas A&M 6-5 to capture the first Baseball National Championship in Volunteers history.

 

NBA NEWS:

The Chicago Bulls hope to find their next star as Round One of the NBA Draft tips off at Barclays Center tonight. Chicago holds the 11th pick tonight, but the Bulls do not currently hold any second round picks tomorrow. Tonight’s draft begins at 7:00PM.

NHL NEWS:

A former Blackhawks star is heading to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Jeremy Roenick was one of seven members named to the 2024 class yesterday. Roenick spent the first eight seasons of his NHL career with Chicago from 1988 until 1996. He had 267 goals and 329 assists in 524 games with the Hawks. Roenick will be inducted into the Hall on November 11th.
