Canned Coffee Being Recalled Over Botulism Concerns

Canned coffee produced by Massachusetts-based Snapchill is being recalled due to concerns regarding botulism. The FDA has issued a warning against nearly 300 varieties of canned coffee sold across the nation by Snapchill.

Snapchill has decided to initiate a voluntary recall of the canned coffee products after identifying potential issues in their manufacturing process that could result in severe food poisoning, including the risk of botulism—a life-threatening form of foodborne illness. The CDC advises individuals who exhibit symptoms of botulism, such as general weakness, dizziness, and double vision, to seek immediate medical attention.

All affected products will bear the label “produced and distributed by Snapchill LLC” below the nutrition facts panel. Consumers are urged to check their canned coffee products for this label and to refrain from consuming them if identified.
