Gerald “Bussie” Wayne May, 80, of Carmi, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on March 8, 1942, the son of Roy T. and Opal Marie (Hoskins) May. Gerald married AnnaBelle Stover on February 8, 1968, and she survives. He worked for Chrysler Motor Company for 28 years. Gerald was a member of Crossville Church of Christ in Crossville, Illinois. He was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, and enjoyed working with his brother repairing mowers, watching tv, and driving to Norris City to visit with friends.In addition to his wife, AnnaBelle May of Carmi, IL, Gerald is survived by his children, Jerry (Stephanie) May of Plain City, OH, Kenny (Andrea) May of Carmi, IL, and Jimmy (Christy) May of Manchester, TN; 11 grandchildren, Amber, Parrish, Gabbie, Emma, Nathan, Alex, Kelsi, Andrew, Jonah, Elijah and Gracie; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Summer Smith and siblings, Bill May, Frankie May, Barbara Murdach, Roy May Jr, Darrell May, Brenda Youngblood and Carolyn Walters.Funeral services for Gerald May will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with burial at Kuykendall Cemetery in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Contributions can be made in Gerald’s memory to Crossville Church of Christ, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
