Roger Jack Drake, age 73 and resident of McLeansboro, IL passed away 2:30 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2023 at McLeansboro Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, McLeansboro, IL.

 

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2023 at Harre

Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL

 

Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023 at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro

Pastor Jacob Gray will officiate the service and Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery

following the funeral service in McLeansboro, IL                                                                                              

 

Roger was born October 28, 1949 in McLeansboro, IL to Jack and Mary (Hays) Drake. He was a

Graduate of McLeansboro High School with the Class of 1967- he attended SIU Carbondale

with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture.  He later married Sandra Turner on September 5, 1970 at

the First Baptist Church, McLeansboro, IL. Roger was employed as a Manager of Tanco

Terminals @ Port of Indiana/ Mgr of Agrium Port @ Mt.Vernon, IN in Agricultural Chemical

Distribution. Roger also farmed and raised black angus cattle. He was Christian by Faith.

 

Roger loved competitive pistol shooting. He was active in Illinois Field Trial Clubs and

Illinois Shooting Clubs. His passion for bird dogs led him to be active in many phases of Field

Trials. He particularly enjoyed guiding at Keith Neil Game Reserve and Gary Kearneys County

Line Hunting Club. He was a member of the National Shoot To Retrieve Association (NSTRA).

 

Survivors include his wife Sandra Drake, McLeansboro, IL; daughter Tennille Feece, husband

Jason, Plymouth, IN; Mother Mary Drake of McLeansboro; Sister Betsy Scott, husband Bill of Effingham, IL; Brother StephenDrake, wife Becky of Houston, TX; Brother-in-Law Jeff Turner, McLeansboro, IL; Grandchildren Tanner, Paige, Drake and Harper; Numerous Nephews, Nieces

and Cousins.

 

Preceding Roger in Death was his Father Jack Drake and infant daughter Stephanie Dawn Drake.

 

Memorials have been requested for The Carmi Childrens Home, Carmi, IL and the Shriner

Childrens Hospital and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro or to the family.
