Connie Mae (Greenwalt) Miller, 78, Wayne City, IL

Connie Mae (Greenwalt) Miller, 78, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Aperion Care in Fairfield, IL.  Connie was born April 24, 1945 a daughter of Robert Lee Greenwalt & Daisy (Medder) Greenwalt.

In her early years, she worked as a beautician in Wayne City, and at the dress factory in Wayne City, she also worked in the receiving department for Wal-Mart in Fairfield, and then later at Mt. Vernon, IL.  She was of the Baptist faith, and had previously attended the Wayne City Baptist Church in Wayne City.  She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, and crochet.  She also enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles, and watching the hummingbirds.  She loved spending time with her family, and she loved her pet dog Molly.

Connie is survived by 2 sons: Brent (Sherry) Esmon of Sims, IL and Mark (Sandy) Schumm of Wayne City; 6 grandchildren: Heather (Todd) Northcut of Mt. Vernon, IL; Hollie Esmon of Mt. Vernon, IL; Becky Brooks of Tulsa, OK; Ricky Smith of Wayne City, Bobby Brents of Norman, OK; and Mikki Robertson of Sims, IL; 12 great-grandchildren: Bentley Esmon, Brinleigh Esmon, Alek Northcut, Kayla Smith, Phoebe Smith, Corey Smith, Dean Smith, DeAndra Smith, Libby Lagle, Markous Brooks, Dawson Robertson, and Emily Robertson; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Mark Gollner and Emma Dubois, 3 brothers: Ed (Carol Ann) Greenwalt of Bluford, IL; Jerry (Lois) Greenwalt of Wayne City, and Bill (Janet) Greenwalt of Xenia, IL; and a sister Bonnie Page of Wayne City, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Daisy Greenwalt, and a brother Dennis Greenwalt.

Funeral services for Connie Mae (Greenwalt) Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Pastor Gary Cline officiating.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Young Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Garrison Temple Cemetery near Keenes, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Garrison Temple Cemetery Fund, and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.
