The city of Fairfield’s water department has advised residents of some additional boil orders in effect and the city’s water situation.
As of this morning, boil orders are in effect for residents on the west side of SW 10th Street from Delaware Street to Leininger Road, the east side of SW 11th Street from Delaware Street to Leininger Road, on West Douglas Street from 1st Street to 7th Streets, and on SW 3rd Street from Delaware Street to King Street. Residents in the affected areas should boil any water to be used for human consumption until further notice.
The city’s water department is also continuing to ask residents to conserve as much water as possible this weekend, as they say water leaks have been identified and repaired, but the recent water loss due to the leaks has strained their ability to fill the water tanks, including the water systems serviced by the city. They’re asking residents to conserve water when possible to help increase the level of water in their system.
