McLeansboro City Council Meets This Evening

The McLeansboro City Council meets this evening at 5:30 at McLeansboro City Hall.

During the Public Comments section, the council will hear from Ruben Flanningan with the Hamilton County Fair Association as well as Mark Auten from Trade Industries.

The board during the consent agenda will review the monthly financial reports, and the July Zoning and City Department Reports.

The council during the meeting will take action on the resignation of police officer Cassidy Dunavan and look at granting permission to Police Chief Taylor to hire a replacement officer. The council will also look into action involving an engineering contract with Klinger and Associates for the LSLI grant as well as in regards to the sanitation sewer evaluation system. The council will also look at funding recycling for the city and county. During the meeting, the council will discuss and look to approve fiscal year 24 appropriations and the budget for the year. The city will also discuss the credit for the sewer line project and discuss temporary street closures for the Kiwanis Fall Festival. The board will enter a closed session and work on collective bargaining items and then look at hiring a police officer.

Prior to the council meeting, the city will hold a public hearing on the fiscal year 24 budget and its appropriations. That public hearing is at 5 this evening.
