Salem, IL Man Arrested on Delivery of Meth Charges

The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation and the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force have announced the arrest of a Salem, IL man on four counts of delivery of methamphetamine,  three class 1 felonies and one class 2 felony.

According to a Facebook post and information from the Illinois State Police Troop 9, ISP and DCI SEIDTF agents conducted a month’s long narcotics investigation resulting in the illicit sale of methamphetamine in Marion County.  This past Wednesday, as a result of the investigation, 43-year-old William J. Prosise was taken into custody.

After being taken into custody, Prosise was taken to the Marion County Jail with bond set at $50,000, 10% to apply.  The investigation remains open and on-going and no further information is available.

The SEIDTF is comprised of the Salem Police Department, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, Robinson Police Department, Mt. Carmel Police Department and the Illinois State Police.  The investigation was  cooperative effort amongst the area police departments in an effort to curb drug usage and violence in the area.

Police remind the public that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
