Louise Melton, 86, of Carmi, Illinois, formerly of New Haven, Illinois, died Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Wabash Christiam Village in Carmi, Illinois. She was born October 6, 1936, in Herald, Illinois, the daughter of Lucian and Norma (Williams) Pyle.
Louise worked for many years as a restaurant cook. She enjoyed sewing and being with her family.
Survivors include daughters Parry Merritt of Schaumburg, Illinois, Barb (Dennis) Henson of Crossville, Illinois, Janis (Mark) Abell of Ridgway, Illinois, Mary (Paul) Ianniello of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren Mike (Elizabeth) Merritt, Melisssa (Chris) Behrend, Candice Masterson, Tiffani Fisk, Lisa (Chris) Risley, Matthew (Christine) Abell; great-grandchildren Lucas, Joey, Hannah, Cole, Derek, Andi, Nolan, Eva, Madison, Dylan, Alex, and Lara.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles and Jimmy Pyle; sisters Alma McDaniel, and Margie Fromm.
In keeping with Louise’s wishes, her remains were cremated. A private family gathering will be at a later date with burial in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven, Illinois.
