The City of Fairfield has dismissed a police officer with cause.
According to Mayor Gary Moore On Wednesday, officials dismissed Logan Trent after an incident in Coles County over the weekend. Trent notified his superiors on Sunday and an internal investigation was initiated.
According to court records in Coles County, Trent was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving under the influence. Trent is out of the Coles County Jail. Trent’s first appearance on the charges will be in Coles County Court on November 14th at 9 AM.
