Otha Lee Weaver, 89 of Wayne City, IL passed away at 6:43 PM, Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, at Stonebridge Memory Care in Mt. Vernon, IL. Born on March 31, 1934, in Wayne County, IL to Audrey and Pearl (Collins) Dickey, she grew up on her family’s farm north of Sims and graduated from Wayne City High School where she was a cheerleader and voted most popular her senior year. Otha Lee married her high school sweetheart, Glen Weaver in 1952. They were married for 68 years until his death in 2020. Glen and Otha Lee traveled a lot together. She was a secretary at her husband’s business, Kissner and Weaver Farm Equipment, for 25 years. She retired in 1985 when they closed the business. Her biggest joy was her grandchildren.

Otha Lee is survived by her daughter Judy Dian (Ken) Harris of Wayne City, grandchildren- Jay Ryan Weaver Simpson, Kurt Simpson, and JuLee Simpson (Dillon) Curtner, great grandchildren- Jade (Jayden) Lewis, Avery McCulley, Abby Simpson, Alexis Simpson, Lyla Curtner, and Olivia Curtner, great great grandchild Kohen Lewis and a sister Irene Barbee of Wayne City. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Robert Duane Weaver who passed away in 1970 of electrocution at the age of 16, brothers- Orville, Harold, Verl, and Carlyn Dickey, and sisters- Opal Weaver and Barbara Musgrave.

Funeral services for Otha Lee Weaver will be held at 1 PM, Monday November 13th at the Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel in Thomason Cemetery, with burial to follow in the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until the time of service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials in her honor may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society or Thomason Cemetery and will be accepted at the service or the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
