Tuesday has been a windy day in the tristate region. According to information at the National Weather Service Office in Paducah, the strongest winds so far have been measured to the south and west of the WFIW listening area.
According to information from the NWS office at Paducah, the highest gust of wind reported in the Fairfield area was reported at 28 miles per hour 2:35 PM.
The highest winds in the NWS Paducah Service Area were measured in Carbondale at 46 miles per hour and Poplar Bluff, MO at 44 miles per hour.
In our area, Carmi saw a wind gust of 35 miles per hour while Harrisburg saw a gust at 33 miles per hour. Mount Vernon saw a 31 mile per hour wind gust.
