The chancellor of SIU-Carbondale and four other finalists for the next president of New Mexico State are no longer being considered. They’ve all been dropped from the search. Last month, Austin Lane was announced as one of five finalists for the job. Yesterday, the chair of the New Mexico State University Board of Regents announced none of them fully meet the needs of the campus right now and a nationwide search will reopen. An interim president will be named in the meantime.
