A bill under consideration in Springfield would require social media companies to notify parents if they find their child is being threatened or is in some sort of danger. The bill passed unanimously out of the House Consumer Protection Committee. The bill would also give Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul the power to pursue social media companies that don’t comply. Raoul has already said he supports the bill.
