Joe F. Porter, 82 of Fairfield

Joe F. Porter, 82 of Fairfield passed away at 12:06PM on Saturday July 6, 2024, at his home. Joe was born in Fairfield on September 30, 1941, to David Frank and Fern (Venters) Porter. He worked in the oil field from 1965-70, and in 1970 Joe went to work at Airtex until he retired in 2003. Joe was a Veteran of the Navy having served in Japan during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Joe married Junelle Locke on January 30, 1965.
Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years- Junelle Porter of Fairfield; sons- Billy Joe (Dodie) Porter of Duquoin IL, Robert E. (Erin) Porter of Odessa FL, and Robby D. (Melanie) Porter of Flora IL; daughter- Michelle Holstein of Fairfield; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday July 10, 2024, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites will be provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
