2024 FAIRFIELD MULES FREE YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP:

Fairfield Mules Football Coach, Justin Townsend and other local football coaches are holding a FREE Youth Football camp in Fairfield this evening (Wednesday, July 17th). There are two different sessions for youth from Kindergarten to 8th grade. See the details below:
Students entering K-2nd (5:00-6:30)
Students entering 3rd-8th (6:30-8:00)
All participants must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver before their son or daughter can participate in camp. The waiver forms will be available at the camp tonight..

SOCCER LEAGUE SIGN UPS IN FAIRFIELD:

Registration is open the Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church Upward Soccer Season set to kick off September 7th. Open to ages pre-K 4th thru 8th grade. Practices will begin the week of August 26th and games will be played on Saturdays and weeknights. Cost is $50 for each player and can be paid online at the end of registration or at evaluations on August 5th or 7th. Check out the link below to register.

DATES SET FOR INTEGRITY VOLLEYBALL ELITE HIGH SCHOOL OPEN GYMS:

Dates have been set for Integrity Elite Volleyball High School open gyms. The dates are Friday, July 19th from 6pm to 7:30 pm and Saturday, July 27th from 9am to 10:30am. Open gym sessions will be held at New Hope Grade School and this is for ages 15 to 18. Cost is $5 and those interested can sign up at www.integrityvolleyball.com.

TRYOUTS FOR INTEGRITY VOLLEYBALL ELITE HIGH SCHOOL HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED:

Tryouts for Integrity Volleyball Elite High School has been announced with the date of Sunday, July 28th from 1pm to 5pm at New Hope Grade School. The tryout fee is $20 and signup is available now at www.integrityvolleyball.com. A make-up tryout date is set for Saturday, July 27th from 9am to 10:30 am also at New Hope School.

CISNE MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALL PRACTICE SET TO BEGIN JULY 31ST:

Cisne Middle School baseball practice will start Wednesday, July 31st from 10-12.
Cisne/Geff Softball practice will start Monday, August 5th from 8:30-10:30am.
Players must have current physicals on file in the school office in order to participate.

AL Comes From Behind To Beat NL In MLB All-Star Game

The American League rallied to beat the National League 5-3 to win the 2024 MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field. Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran broke a tie in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run homer to give the AL the lead. Athletics right-hander Mason Miller was credited with the victory and Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase earned the save after each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Reds righty Hunter Greene was tagged with the loss after allowing two runs on two hits. Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani launched a three-run shot for the National League.

WNBA New Media Deal:

The increasingly popular WNBA is inking a new media rights deal. The Athletic is reporting that the league is set to receive around 2.2-billion dollars over the next 11 years in rights fees from its new deals. That means that the WNBA will be bringing in an average of 200-million dollars per season and will be able to make as much as six-times the amount of its current contracts. The national media rights agreements are with ESPN, NBC and Amazon, which will each have their own WNBA packages. The league’s current media deals will expire following the 2025 season.

USA Basketball Set To Play Serbia In Abu Dhabi:

The USA men’s basketball team is taking the court in Abu Dhabi for one more exhibition game. Team USA is set to battle three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic [[ yo-kitch ]] and Serbia today at Etihad Arena. The Americans are coming off a 98-92 takedown of Australia on Monday. Anthony Davis led the way with 17 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks off the bench. Devin Booker added 16 points in a game where the U.S. shot 41.4-percent from three-point land. The Serbians enter fresh off an 84-73 loss to Australia yesterday. Jokic had a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards in the losing effort. The United States is 36-and-3 in pre-Olympic exhibition contests dating back to 1992.
