The annual Johnsonville Ruritan Community Days celebration is set to run from Friday, August 2nd through early Sunday, August 4th. This year’s event will include the return of the Little Miss and Mister Johnsonville Pageant for children ages three to ten. The Grand Marshal for this year’s celebration is Connie Forth, a longtime member of the Johnsonville community who has volunteered her time to the Ruritans and helped in the community in many ways. The theme for this year’s parade is ‘Livin The Dream…On The Farm’. Numerous events are lined up for Johnsonville Days. Below is the schedule of events and contact numbers for those in charge of said event for anyone wanting to sign up to participate.
Friday, August 2nd:
6:30 pm- Truck & Tractor Pull. Admission is $5; there’s a $25 hook fee for pullers. Contact Andrew Pennington at 618-516-2581 or Robbie Robertson at 618-919-0360.
6:30 pm – Bingo
Sandwiches and drinks will be available at the Pavilion. Cost is $2 for a hot dog, $3 for a porkburger or polish sausage and $6 for a ribeye sandwich.
Saturday, August 3rd:

6:15am – 5K Run/WalkRegistration. If you haven’t registered yet, you still can. The fee is $25, contact Jessica Pennington, Race Director at 618-838-4529.
7am – 5K Run/Walk.
7am – Breakfast available at the Ruritan building serving biscuits and gravy.
9am to 12 Noon – Car, Truck, Motorcycle & Tractor Show Registration. $10 entry fee with tractors FREE. Contact Lawrence Pennington at 618-919-0297.
9:30 am – Parade lineup at Johnsonville School.

11am – – Sandwiches and drinks available at the Pavilion. (same menu/prices as listed on Friday).
11am – Ham & Beans with cornbread and drinks at the Ruritan building ($3 per bowl).

Early Afternoon – Car & Tractor Show Awards.
