John A. Pyle, 70, of Carmi

John A. Pyle, 70, of Carmi, Illinois, died Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. He was born April 27, 1954, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Wilbur and Jean (York) Pyle. He was married to Brenda (Gwaltney) Pyle, and she survives.

John was a farmer and a truck driver. He was a member of the Kingdom Baptist Church near Carmi, Illinois. John was a hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed going to baseball and basketball games.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Pyle; sons Jay (Pegan) Pyle, Luke (Alicia) Pyle, all of Carmi; sister Patty (David) Woodruff of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren Josephine, Arthur, Willa, Addison, Lily; and his beloved pet dog Missy Mae.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and step-father Gene O’Neal.

Visitation and funeral are Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois. Visitation is 1 – 3 pm, followed by funeral at 3 pm. Burial is in Kingdom Cemetery near Carmi, Illinois.
