PAUL EUGENE SMITH, age 84, a resident of Mt. Vernon, IL. passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his residence.
Paul was born May 16,1940 in Punxsutawney, PA. He was a son of Walter and Nora Elizabeth Furman Smith. He married Carol Murry Smith.
Carol passed away on April 3, 2014.
Paul was a coal miner and loved to garden and farm. He attended the United Methodist Church in Macedonia, IL.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the United Methodist Church, Macedonia. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A burial of ashes will immediately follow the funeral service at the Macedonia Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Delores (Dee Dee) Black and husband Doug, Normal, IL., sons, Douglas Smith, Macedonia, IL. and Dale Smith and wife Melanie, Vienna, IL. Grandchildren, Tyler Smith and wife Sadie, Kriegh and wife Channah, Kole and Evan Black, Isaac Smith, Meighan Marlow and husband Joseph and McKenzie Jay and husband Tristan. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Weston Smith, Kylen Smith and Lucien Jay.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
