Several customers of Ameren Illinois were without power Friday morning.
The outage was blamed on equipment malfunctions and affected customers in several southern Illinois cities, including West Frankfort, which had the most outages. Over 11,000 customers were reported without power, which had been restored as of Friday afternoon.
Officials said there was an equipment malfunction at a substation in West Frankfort, with crews re-routing customers to another substation.
