Roger Clarence Graddy, 87, of Mount Vernon

Roger Clarence Graddy, 87, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:00 pm October 30, 2024 at Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon, Missouri. He was born August 18, 1937 in Belle Prairie, Illinois to the late William Clarence “Bill” and Mildred Verl (Sheley) Graddy. Roger married Thelma Arlene (Smith) Graddy on July 19, 1957 in Hamilton County, Illinois. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on October 9, 2012.
Roger is survived by his children, Brent Graddy of Saint Louis, Missouri, Pam Faulkenberg and husband, Jeff of Troy, Illinois, and Tammy Davis and husband, Stan of Saint Peters, Missouri; grandchildren, Jordan Faulkenberg and wife, Lauren, Devan Faulkenberg, Dylan Faulkenberg and wife, Brittany, Bria Frick and husband, Adam, Britani Clifford and husband, Robert, Grace Graddy, and Brock Graddy; great-grandchildren, Rylan Frick, Jackson Clifford, Charlotte Clifford, Landon Frick and Granger Faulkenberg; brother, William “Bill” Graddy and wife, Sandy of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sister, Cheryl Miltenberger and husband, Hank of Covington, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Roger was preceded in death by his grandson, Brennan Graddy Faulkenberg; and uncle, Willis “Pete” Bramlett and wife, Beatrice.
Roger founded with the family business, State Beauty Supply in Mount Vernon and was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on his Studebaker and watching old westerns. Most of all, Roger cherished the time spent with his family. He will be remembered as a devoted father, cherished grandfather, loving brother, and dear friend to many.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Inurnment will follow. Memorials may be made in Roger’s honor to the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Foundation.
