Shirley Ann Williams, 81, of Carmi, Illinois, died Friday, November 8, 2024, at Wabash Senior Living and Rehabilitation in Carmi, after a brief illness. She was born January 6, 1943, in Springerton, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence “C.W.” and Jewel (McGehee) Stocke.
Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and working in her yard. She had a talent for interior decorating.
Survivors include Stan Williams, father of her two daughters Julie (Dan) Mitchell and Shauna Williams; brother Steve (Barbara) Stocke; grandchildren Lindsey (Chris) Alvey, Matthew (Jessica) Mitchell, Alex Mitchell, Whitney Williams; five great-grandchildren, Keeley Roberts, Kye Roberts, Leo Mitchell, Olive Mitchell, and Millie Mitchell; and her loving dog Rusty.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Scott Stocke; and granddaughter Ashley Roberts.
Shirley’s wishes were to be cremated. Her family is grateful to the staff at Wabash Senior Living and Rehabilitation for their kindness and compassionate care.
Visitation and funeral are Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois. Visitation is 10 am to 12 noon and funeral is at 12 noon. Burial is in White County Memorial Gardens west of Carmi, Illinois.
