Edna Fern May, 83, of Grayville

 Edna Fern May, 83, of Grayville passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Meadowbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Grayville, IL.  She was born in White County, IL on November 25, 1940 the daughter of Herschel and Inez (Hale) Merritt.  Edna married Bill G. May and he preceded her in death in 1986.  She had attended Cherry Street General Baptist Church in Carmi.

Edna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sharon May of Grayville; a granddaughter, Sarah Blanton and husband Wes of Evansville, IN; and two great-grandchildren, Tenley Short and Holly Blanton.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and granddaughter, Rachel Short.

In keeping with Edna’s wishes, a graveside funeral service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.  Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Grayville, 2301 Broster Rd., Grayville, IL 62844 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821 who is in charge of arrangements.
