Sharon Russell, age 78, a resident of McLeansboro, IL. passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Sharon was born on August 5, 1946 in McLeansboro, IL. She was a daughter of Glendal Poynor and Mabel (Page) Poynor. Sharon married William Lane Russell on March 5, 1966 in Benton, IL.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. Sharon loved flowers and working in the yard. She enjoyed giving others things with nothing expected in return.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bud” Russell, a son Scott Russell and wife Nicole, Ina, Illinois. Grandchildren Asher and Abbie Russell of Ina, IL. also survive.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Don Poynor and Robert “Bob” Poynor and two sisters Ruth Dye and Shirley Lockwood.
Visitation will be 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL. with Pastor Cliff Clark officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McLeansboro, IL.
