62-year-old, Donald E. Wilhite Jr. of Fairfield was sentenced yesterday (Thursday) in Wayne County Circuit Court. Wilhite was awaiting sentence on Possession of Methamphetamine charges dating back to July 30th. Last Saturday, Wilhite was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s Department following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Fairfield and charged with; Possession of Cannabis-more than 500 grams but less than 2,000 grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Delivery/Possess with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. In exchange for the guilty plea, the new charges were dismissed and Wilhite was sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and also ordered to pay court costs. 33-year-old, Katherine Christopher of Fairfield also appeared in court yesterday as she was also charged following the search warrant with; Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction of Identification and also an out of state warrant issued through Georgia. Christopher signed a waiver of extradition and is awaiting transport back to Georgia. She is due back in Wayne County Circuit Court in January to answer to the Wayne County charges.
