The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is reminding hunters to keep safety in mind when using tree stands as firearm deer season is set to begin later this week. So far during the fall 2024 hunting season, Illinois Conservation Police have documented one hunting-related death. A man in Wayne County died after falling from a tree stand on November 10th.
