WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT MAKING CHANGES TO JAIL MAILING SYSTEM DUE TO CONTRABAND ISSUES

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department say they’ve made the decision to move to a digital mailing system for those detained in the Wayne County Jail.

According to a post shared by the sheriff’s department, ongoing contraband issues experienced by jails nationwide sparked the decision to make the change.

Through a partnership with the company “TextBehind,” the sheriff’s department says personal mail for inmates will be sent to Kentucky then scanned and delivered to those in custody via in cell kiosk or tablet, once approved by Correctional Staff.

Starting on December 2nd, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department says that personal mail will need to be addressed as:

Inmate Name

Wayne County Jail IL

PO Box 76550 Highland Heights, KY 41076

Mail will then be scanned and delivered, once approved by Correctional Staff, to those in custody via in cell kiosk or tablet.  The sheriff’s department says legal mail will still follow the current vetting and delivery processes. They say the service comes with no additional cost to the county.
