HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL:
The 2024-2025 edition of the Fairfield Mules will open their season today at the Lawrence County Capital Classic when they face Vincennes Lincoln, with tip-off at 12:30pm at the Red Hill High School in Bridgeport. They will also turnaround and face Red Hill later tonight at 7:30pm. Saturday morning, The Mules will play Olney at 11:30.

The Fairfield Lady Mules will be participating in the Lady Maroons Thanksgiving Tournament in Robinson today and tomorrow (Saturday). Today, the Lady Mules play Marshall at 12 noon then play Robinson at 3pm. Saturday, the Lady Mules take on Effingham St. Anthony at 12 noon then play Mt. Carmel at 3pm.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY:
Number-23 Illinois takes on Northwestern tomorrow (Saturday) when the two teams meet at Wrigley Field in Chicago The Illini are coming off a 38-31 win over Rutgers last weekend, while Northwestern was crushed by Michigan 50-6. Illinois is in fifth place in the Big Ten with a 5-and-3 conference mark and an 8-and-3 record overall, while the Wildcats are in 16th place at 2-and-6 in conference play and 4-and-7 overall. Northwestern has won seven of its last nine meetings with Illinois. Tomorrow’s game starts at 11:00am and can be heard on WFIW-AM 1390 on the Illini Radio Sports Network with the pre-game beginning at 10am.
