8TH ANNUAL HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE AND ACTIVITIES SET FOR WAYNE CITY

Wayne City Matters Hometown Lighted Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, December 14th beginning at 7pm with Grand Marshals for the parade this year being Gary & Rota Harrell.   There are new categories this year for Best Business Entry, Best Lighted Farm Equipment Entry, Best Royality Entry and Best Personal Smaller Entry (this entry doesn’t fit any other category and is smaller in size).   Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall of $100, $75 and $50 and Best School Entry, Best ATV, Side by Side, Golf Cart Entry and Best Walking Group.  Parade line-up will begin at 5:30pm and entries must be in line by 6:15pm to be judged.  For any questions and more information, contact Jennifer Ehrhart at 618-214-8294 or Chris Robertson at 618-516-2387.  Deadline to sign up is Friday, December 6th.

 

Also, the Community Building will have activities from 5 to 7pm inside including: Santa will be available for pictures and handing out books and treat bags supplied by Wayne City Matters and the Keenes Public Library. FCCLA will be cookie decorating with the kids.  Outside the Community Building will be a free petting zoo, free horse and wagon rides, free hot dogs, chips & drink for the kids and free hot cocoa and cookies for everyone provided by Church Of The Harvest in Wayne City.
