Janice Kay Horn, 79, of Enfield

Janice Kay Horn, 79, of Enfield, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born on October 16, 1945, in Enfield, Illinois, the daughter of Warren and Ruby (Crawford) Williams. Jan married Bill Horn on January 31, 1972, and he survives. She worked at the Enfield sewing factory and later became the owner and operator and cook at the Echo Restaurant and Motel. Jan was a lifetime member of the Enfield Christian Church. She was a wonderful cook and made everyone’s birthday cakes. Jan was great at decorating and enjoyed decorating the church for each season and also decorated all of the Tequila’s restaurants. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  Jan loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and other family members. She always loved having all the kids over in the summer to enjoy swimming in the pool.

In addition to her husband, Bill Horn of Enfield, IL, Jan is survived by her children, Jimmy Horn and Johnny (Renea) Fields both of Enfield, IL, and Tiffany Lindsay of Lebanon, IN; grandchildren, Ashley (Blaine) Oglesby and Billy Wayne Horn; great-grandchildren, Jacob Horn, Danika Horn and Weston Robert Smith; a sister, Karen (Bill) Lewis of Enfield, IL; an aunt, Reba Cushman of Enfield, IL; a niece and nephew, Melanie (Chad) Garrett and Bill (Charla) Lewis III. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Loretta “Lori” Horn.

Funeral services For Jan Horn will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield with burial at Enfield Cemetery in Enfield. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jan’s memory to Enfield Christian Church, and will be accepted at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield, or may be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
