GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL FROM SATURDAY:
Fairfield Lady Mules participated in the Lady Maroons Thanksgiving Tournament over the weekend in Robinson. Saturday, the Lady Mules lost to Effingham St. Anthony 49-29 and lost to Mt. Carmel 53-30. Mabry Foster, Junior Guard for the Lady Mules was selected to the All-Tournament team.
The Edwards County Lady Lions proved they were the best team in the Lady Foxes Invitational at McLeansboro, going 4-0 to win the Championship. Edwards County also placed three players on the All-Tournament Team, including Grace Bishop, Lola Nussmeyer, and Alice Robb. Other players on the All-Tournament team include:

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY:
The number-23 Illinois Fighting Illini wrapped up their regular season with a 38-28 win over Northwestern at Wrigley Field on Saturday. The Illini are in fifth place in the Big Ten with a 6-and-3 conference record and a 9-and-3 mark overall. The Illini will find out their bowl fate later this month.
