The Wayne County Farm Bureau was recognized with several awards during the 2024 Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Chicago including the Pinnacle Award, Liberty Bell Award, New Horizon Award and the Top County Young Leader Award. The Wayne County Farm Bureau was presented with Illinois Farm Bureau’s highest honor, announced at the state organization’s annual meeting in Chicago, IL on Sunday.
The Wayne County Farm Bureau was awarded the Illinois Farm Bureau Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Programming in Membership Group 2. The Wayne County Farm Bureau also was recognized with the Liberty Bell Award for their work on legislative, advocacy, and local affairs programming, as well as the New Horizon Award which recognizes new and innovative programming. The organization’s “Understanding Your Property Taxes Resource” was the project achieving the New Horizon Award.
The Wayne County Farm Bureau Young Leader Committee was recognized with Most Outstanding Young Leader Program Award in Membership Group 2 for their annual Howl at the Moon Fundraiser. Wayne City native Adam Loker was also recognized as the winner of the Collegiate Discussion Meet.
Finally, the Wayne County Farm Bureau along with the Edwards and Wabash County Farm Bureaus were recognized the multi-county New Horizon Award for their “Sustaining the Human Spirit” program, which provides mental health training to second year nursing students at Frontier and Wabash Valley Community Colleges.
