WABASH VALLEY COLLEGE SEEKS STUDENT CANDIDATE FOR IECC BOARD OF TRUSTEES POSITION

Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) is excited to announce that applications are now open for the role of Student Trustee on the IECC Board of Trustees for the 2025-2026 academic year. This esteemed position offers a unique opportunity for a Wabash Valley College (WVC) student to represent the voices of their peers across all four IECC campuses: Frontier Community College, Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, and Wabash Valley College.

 

As the Student Trustee, the selected individual will serve as a crucial liaison between the student body and the Board, advocating for student interests and addressing concerns. Additionally, the trustee will hold the position of president of the IECC Student Advisory Board, promoting communication and collaboration among the campuses.

 

This leadership role rotates annually, with Wabash Valley College hosting the Student Trustee for the upcoming term. The one-year term will commence with the Board of Trustees meeting in April and conclude in March 2026.

 

Eligibility Requirements: To run for this position, students must meet the following criteria:

 

 

Completion of at least 15 credit hours at IECC.

 

Enrollment as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) throughout the term of office.

 

Good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.0.

 

Good conduct standing with no violations.

 

Financial good standing with IECC (no outstanding account balances).

 

The election is set to take place by March 1, 2025, so interested students are encouraged to start their campaign preparations now.
