Samuel Rubenacker, age 82, of McLeansboro

Samuel Rubenacker, age 82, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at his residence in McLeansboro, IL.

Sam was born September 25 1942, in McLeansboro, IL. He was a son of Oscar Rubenacker and Francies (Ewald) Rubenacker. He worked for Local 561, Evansville, Indiana Labor Union. Sam loved to fish and hunt and was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and the Carmi VFW. He was a catholic by faith and served in the United States Army.

Survivors include his companion Judy Hood, a son, John Biggerstaff, brother David Rubenacker and wife June of Dahlgren, IL., his sister Angie Butler and husband Elmer, Dahlgren, IL; Sister-in-Law, Carolyn Rubenacker also of Dahlgren. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brian, Brett and Kyle Biggerstaff along with several nieces and nephews.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Phyllis and husband Philip Rapp; Doris and husband Virgil Richardson, his brothers Jack Rubenacker and wife Pearl; Tim Rubenacker and Jerry Rubenacker.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 noon at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL. with the funeral service following visitation. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro, IL.  Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements.
