The Department of Central Management Services has received notification from Governor JB Pritzker regarding the Illinois Flag Display Act. All persons and entities covered by this act are instructed to lower the flags to half-staff in honor of Illinois State Police Trooper Clay Carns, 35, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on December 23rd.
Trooper Carns joined the Illinois State Police on November 10th, 2013, as part of Cadet Class 123, serving with badge number 6512 for 11 years.
Please ensure that the United States flags and State flags are lowered at all buildings occupied by your agency’s personnel until sunset on Friday.
