Fairfield Mules Wrestling Team will be participating in the Murdale Tournament over the weekend in Carbondale wrestling today and tomorrow (Saturday). Today’s action starts at 2pm and wrestling tomorrrow morning begins at 9 o’clock.

Edwardsville 47, Dieterich 39 (Needing to fill a few vacancies on their schedule due to some cancellations, the Edwardsville Tigers scheduled a Thursday night boys basketball game with Dieterich. The Tigers entered the game ranked #24 in Class 4A, while Dieterich came in ranked #12 in Class 1A in the latest NestoHoops Statewide rankings. To put the uniqueness of this game in perspective, you have a school of just 137 students versus a school with an enrollment of 2,307 students. David could not slay Goliath in this one, but the Maroons put up a valiant effort. Dieterich led 11-9 after the first quarter and the game was tied 18-18 at the half. The Tigers led 38-33 after three quarters, and Edwardsville held on to win 47-39. It was the first time these two teams have ever met in school history).
