Nancy Jane Ray Wood, 68, of Cisne, IL

Nancy Jane Ray Wood, 68, of Cisne, IL passed away at 12:44 AM Sunday, January 5th, 2025, in the skilled care unit at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 30th, 1956 in Fairfield, IL to Harold and Billye Ray. She spent the majority of her career as a speech pathologist working in the North Wayne school district. Nancy also worked in the family business doing the bookkeeping for Harold L. Ray Truck and Tractor Service. Nancy was always an active church member and pianist. She was a member of Cisne Christian Church for many years, playing the organ, teaching Sunday school, and being very involved with the youth. She later became a member of Fairfield Christian Church playing the organ, teaching Sunday school, and was very active in the W.O.W. program. She was a devoted and loving mother and grammy and loved nothing more than spending time with her family.

Nancy is survived by her mother Billye Ray, brother Greg (Terry) Ray, 2 sons: Alan (Lucretia) Wood and Will Wood, two grandchildren: Adaline Wood and Emma Wood, uncle Alan Jones, cousins: Lori (Ed) Miller and Jeff Jones, aunt Ina Ray, cousin Wayne (Jenny) Jones, cousin Rosemary Gondek, her dear friend Amy Kemp, and multiple other cousins, nieces, and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her father Harold Ray, paternal grandparents Chester and Addi Ray, maternal grandparents H.W. and Beulah Jones, paternal uncle Gene Ray, maternal uncle and aunt Bob and Arlene Jones, maternal aunt Wanda Jones, and multiple other cousins.

Funeral services for Nancy Jane Ray Wood will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 10th, 2025 at Meredith Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, IL with burial to follow in Cisne Cemetery. Pastor Craig Scott will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
