The Fairfield Mules Boys basketball game with Richland County scheduled for tonight has been postponed to this Saturday, January 18th. This will be JV/Varsity only and begin at 2pm.

The Fairfield Mules wrestling tri-match scheduled for tonight at Centralia has been canceled. However, the Mules will now participate in Lawrenceville’s Eastern Illinois Tournament on February 1st.

The WEAA Boys Basketball Tournament opening round will begin tonight, Tuesday (January 14th) as all first round games were postponed until tonight due to the rural road conditions.
Tonight at Cisne:
5:30 pm: Grayville vs Geff
7:00 pm: Cisne will play the winner of the Grayville-Geff game.

Tonight’s Games:
6:00pm: New Hope at Allendale/St. Mary’s
6:00pm: Jasper at Clay City
6:00pm: St. Joe at West Salem
Winners will move on to the semi-finals which will be played tomorrow (Wednesday, January 15th) at Clay City.

Illinois basketball returns to the hardwood tonight. The team tips off against Indiana from Bloomington. The Number-20 Illini are coming off a tough loss to USC as  Illinois had a five-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 4-and-2 in Big Ten play to go with a 12-and-4 overall record. Game time tonight is at 6pm and you can hear the game on WFIW-AM 1390 and FM 103.3 on the Illini Radio Sports Network with pregame activities starting at 5pm.

Week 11 College Basketball Coaches Poll:
A new team is sitting atop the latest college basketball coaches poll. Auburn climbed one spot in the rankings and now leads the nation. The Tigers are followed by Iowa State, Duke, Florida and Alabama. Tennessee dropped five spots and is now ranked sixth. Marquette, Houston, Kentucky and Kansas round out the remainder of the top 10. Illinois dropped five spots to 20th.
