Gary L. Anderson, 86, of Carmi

Gary L. Anderson, 86, of Carmi passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025.  He was born in White County, IL on May 26, 1938 the son of William and Miriam (Curtis) Anderson.  Gary married Carole A. Harlow on September 8, 1960 and she survives.  After graduating High School, Gary joined the Army and served from 1958 till 1960 and then went on to attend barber school.  Gary retired after 30 years of being a Barber at Arcade Barbershop.. He also had worked as the custodian at Brownsville School and drove a school bus for the Carmi White County School District for 30 years.. Gary was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Gary is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carole; two daughters, Kay (Craig) Reiner of Bedford, IN and Karen (Chris) Geiser of Evansville, IN; four grandchildren, John and Evan Reiner and Kelsey and Claire Geiser; a sister, Nina Cozart of Carmi; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Reiner and five siblings, John H. Anderson, Pete Anderson, Charles Anderson, Phyllis Dudley and Wilma Wallace.

Funeral services for Gary L. Anderson, 86, of Carmi will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Burial will follow in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s memory to Brownsville School and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home or by mail to 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821
