Illinois is suspending events that feature the exhibition or sale of poultry.  The Illinois Department of Agriculture is issuing a 30-day suspension on the exhibition or sale of poultry at swap meets, exhibitions, flea markets, and auction markets.  The suspension is in response to the ongoing threat of the bird flu.  The move is intended to reduce and prevent the spread of the disease, which has been detected in commercial and backyard flocks in Illinois.

Organizers are revealing more acts for this year’s Illinois State Fair.  Nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow will be performing on the Fair Grandstand on August 12th.  The Turnpike Troubadours are scheduled to take the stage on August 17th.  The 2025 Illinois State Fair is being held August 7th through the 17th in Springfield.
