LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ARREST INDIVIDUALS ON VARIOUS CHARGES

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies early last Wednesday morning  (February 12th) made contact with a juvenile walking in Fairfield. During the encounter it was determined the juvenile possessed items that had recently been stolen during a rash of vehicular burglaries. The juvenile was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The Juvenile was arrested and later released to a parent.

 

 

A follow-up on a story with more, detailed information that we first aired on Saturday, last Thursday at approximately 2:00pm, Wayne County Deputies along with the Fairfield Police Department were dispatched to subjects attempting to cash fraudulent checks at Fairfield National Bank. Kevin W. Burris,49 of Decatur, Il was detained at the bank by responding officers. The Sheriff’s Office continued the investigation and it was determined that Burris and a second individual Brandon S. Missel, 41 of Decatur had both cashed fraudulent checks at Bean Capital Bank in Wayne City. Burris was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail. The second suspect Brandon Missel was located by Deputies a short time later at the Budget Inn in Fairfield. Missel was also taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail.  Both were preliminarily charged with – Deceptive Practice/ Bank Related Fraud

 

 

Saturday morning around 2:30, Wayne County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Jagger L. Owen 21 of Fairfield. During the stop it was determined Owen had a Revoked Illinois Driver’s License and was issued a Notice to Appear and released on scene.

 

 

Saturday morning around 10, Fairfield Police investigated a hit and run crash at McDonald’s southeast entrance/exit. A 2018 Ford truck driven by Gerald Edgren was traveling north

from Windsor Lane to the entrance of McDonald’s. An unknown vehicle turned east out of the exit, striking the truck. The unknown vehicle left the scene without exchanging information. If you have any information concerning this crash, please contact the Fairfield Police Department.
