Little Wabash Fire Protection Firefighters along with mutual aid from the Albion and Crossville Fire Departments, along with support from White County Ambulance, Grayville Police Department, and the Grayville Utility Department responded to a structure fire just before 2 a.m. Tuesday morning. Fire Chief Travis Thompson stated that the flames appeared to have originated in the kitchen area of La Fiesta Mexican Grill, leaving the restaurant completely destroyed. The seating area also sustained significant smoke damage.
The investigation into the exact cause of the fire has been turned over to the Illinois State Fire Marshal. La Fiesta, located next to the Super 8, had been in operation since the spring of 2024. Before that, the building housed Seasons Grill, which had been open since 2011.
