The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department on Friday afternoon just before 1:30 received reports of a domestic disturbance involving shots fired at 12339 E. Oakton Rd in Mt. Vernon. Deputies and detectives arrived on the scene and located the caller, 61-year-old Leslie D. Borah. A search of the residence and surrounding property led to the discovery of 33-year-old Adam M. Borah, who was found unresponsive. Jefferson County Coroner Roger Hayse was called to the scene and pronounced Adam Borah deceased.
The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations was requested to process the area. Leslie Borah was subsequently taken to the Sheriff’s Office and arrested for unlawful concealing of a death. He has been released with a requirement to appear in court.
The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy for Adam Borah has been scheduled for today by Coroner Hayse. Leslie Borah is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
