MEYERS LEONARD RETIRES FROM NBA
Robinson, Illinois native Meyers Leonard has stepped away from the NBA to concentrate on being a husband, father, and a singer/songwriter. Leonard led Robinson High School to the 2A State Title in 2010 when the Maroons defeated Peoria Manual. He played for the University of Illinois for a brief time before jumping to the NBA as the 11th overall pick in 2012. He played in parts of ten seasons.
He is married to Elle Bielfeldt, a former athlete from Peoria Notre Dame. They met each other while attending Illinois. They have one son, and another boy on the way.
