Angela Sue Bruns, 41, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 25, 1984, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas Robert and Vicki (Erwin) Moore. Angie graduated from Carmi White County High School in 2002. She then went on to attend Southeastern Illinois College. Angie married Jeremiah Bruns on December 14, 2002, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2017. She worked at McDonalds when she was in high school. Later, she worked at Casey’s General Store as a manager for many years. In August of 2021, she began working as a Patient Access Specialist in the Urgent Care Department at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. In November of 2022 she was named Employee of the Month. Angie loved listening to music, especially Taylor Swift and attending concerts when she was younger. Angie loved people, and spending time with friends and family. In 2023, Angie was diagnosed with Bilateral Charcot, a rare condition that affects the bones, joints and soft tissue of the foot and ankle
Angie is survived by her son Cameron Michael Bruns of Carmi, IL; her parents, Tom and Vicki Moore of Carmi, IL; an aunt and uncles, James Robert Moore and Eddie (Roweta) Erwin; cousins, Tony (Stacy) Churchwell, Tim (Kristy) Churchwell and Mike Erwin. In addition to her husband, Jeremiah Bruns, Angie is preceded in death by an aunt, Janet Churchwell.
A memorial service for Angela Sue Bruns will be held later in the summer, with inurnment at Kuykendall Cemetery in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Angie’s memory to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, at P.O. Box 105, Glenolden, PA. 19036. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
